jamJAR is a solution that applies out of the box thinking & lean methodologies to macOS “patch management”.

It was written for by us at dataJAR for our jamf|MSP customers on our datajar.mobi platform.

In short, jamJAR works in the following way:

• AutoPKG populates a Munki repo with PKGs.
• Jamf updates clients local-only manifest via jamJAR policy script & Jamfs policy mechanism.
• When amending a clients local-only manifest the jamJAR policy script will run Munki.
• Depending on various criteria being met, notifications can then be displayed to the client & these are from jamJAR’s postflight & the text is manageable via jamJAR’s preferences.
